We live in a fast paced world. Communication is at our finger tips. Information that used to take weeks to be exchanged is now available in seconds. We can know everything we'll likely ever need to know to survive, just by typing the question into a Google search.
All this free flowing information and global connectivity is amazing! But it's not without complications. We're busier than ever. Most of us (I know I certainly do) feel like the world is racing by around us and it's difficult to slow things down sometimes.
With the whirlwind of activity constantly swirling about us it can be really challenging to keep our heads, and stick to our routines.
If you've ever felt you were just too busy to workout, it's important to remember a few things:
1. A workout program done consistently at home, is better than the workout program done sporadically at the gym. As with most things in life, just doing something, is always better than doing nothing. If you can't make it to the gym because you just don't have enough time, that's ok. Take 15 minutes, and squat, lunge and do planks in the kitchen while your dinner cooks.
2. Eliminate excuses pre-emptively. If you're only one excuse away from not going to the gym at all times, try to make the excuse as ridiculous as possible. Put your gym clothes by the door, or in a bag you NEED to bring with you. Make sure you pack a lunch the night before so you don't "run out of time" in the morning. Little hacks and small tweaks to your environment can be the difference between keeping up with your exercise or not.
3. Try to keep a positive mindset about these things. If you miss a day, meh, you miss a day. Just make sure you don't miss too many in a row. It's much easier to fall out of the habit of exercising than it is to get into it. So give yourself the time to chill, and then get back on the horse as soon as you can.
That's all for now folks! Our next group weight loss program starts the first Monday of next month. If you're lucky there will still be some spots open, so head over to the contact page, send us an email, and we'll set you up with everything you need to know to get in on the next program.
